50/50 baby oil and dettol used to be good for sandflies, not sure about mozzies.

If you've got any mates in the army, get them to get hold of some of the issue insect repellant for u. It's crazy stuff that you put on clothes more so than skin, but its really powerful and works a treat. From memory its concentration of DEET it too high for it to be sold

It must be nearly 100% deet - long term use wouldn't be too healthy But it would be needed for the army.
For most of us it would be ok and better than being eaten alive.
I reakon you can use any of the chemicals on the market - but you may get sick if you use them too much.

s.tury - mix it in one of those cheap atomizer bottles - spray it on and no contamination on the hands.

I find equal parts detol and baby oil with a few drops citronella oil works well Babbs

long sleeves, fingerless gloves ( sold as sun gloves), long pants and socks on your feet (* if you can't stand the heat wear shorts but keep on the socks stops the buggers biting you round the ankles) spray your clothers with with rid or what ever, avoid using repellants that you have to rub into with your hands. also anti hisitmines like calaratine help, take before you go if you are one of the ones that comes up in lumps. prevention is better than cure. spray on clothes lasts longer than on skin ( days in fact ) . Also with sand fly if you can avoid scratching the bites for half an hour the itch will go away.

    gooo luck goanna
