Do a google search for metric conversion tables. There are millions to choose from.

google has a wonderful calculator/conversion tool built in.

search for `17 miles per hour in knots` and it will return `17 miles per hour = 14.7725961 knots`. comes in usefull for all kinds of conversions.

I wrote a long winded (pun intended) answer to this and then questioned myself. but i got this off the net

1 mile per hour = 0.868976242 knots

so multiply 15mpr X 0.868976242 knots = 13.03 knts

Hope this helps.

p.s. where are you getting your miles per hour readings from? All the data i ever see is in km/hr or knots.
