Im heading up to noosa staying at Noosa Sound from the 13th-19th of december. Im looking to catch some trevally and bream on s.p's and poppers any advice on area's to fish etc. would be greatly appreciated.
I camp up at noosa every year around chrissie time. The best places for trevally i've found are in front of the munna point caravan park, up weyba creek just passed where the 6 knot speed limit ends and in woods bay. Rios prawn lures are handy to have as well as a few small raiders as well. In woods bay you can get a few trevally also trolling little minnows as quickly as you can before they jump out of the water, around the drop offs where the bait is.
very rarely will you have to past the woods bays. early morning and late arvo/night are the go. last summer they were there most nights i fished. plenty of prawns around. i used poppers and glow in the dark sp's when the sun went down.
thanks heaps for all the advice, i've heard a lot about fishing around the bridges and at woods bay i'll definatly be givining both a shot. Jeffo what type of poppers do you use?
around mumma point bridge on the poppers early morning. ive caught a couple there and also a jack on a 3" POWER BAIT. i caught 3 trevs in a morning session on the river to sea bubble popper
