    Shore fishing in Sydney

I understand that a bulk of the forum are QLD based but I was hoping that someone may be familiar with Sydney NSW (don't hold that against me) and some key shore based spots to try for Bream and Flathead.

I am a bait fisherman whom recently has tried Soft Plastics (2 times with NO success) and there are numerous spots that have been touched upon during my web surfing BUT not alot of good support.

I welcome any assistance and or PM if preferred, if anyone can be so kind as to tell of a hotspot etc.

    Thanks in advance.

try the gorges river at milpera (not sure if i got the spelling right) but i know that is a pretty good spot to chase a bream and other fish with bait
i have never fished their with lure so couldn't help you too much thier and would think twice before eatting any fish or at least ask a loacal if they would first

I know the area (Georges River) in Milperra BUT have never fished there. Will give it a try though

What about a flathead spot with Soft Platsics

    Any personal experiences with success

i might be able to help you with more detail on milperra so just pm me and i will sort something out for ya

one other place i did think about that would work great guns on the flattie and soft plastics is brighten le sands
try waking along that beache area casting your plastics out and retriveing back to your feet
i'm almost 100% sure that that would land ya a few
i use to drift that bay with my old man when i was a kid with pillys around there and always managed a few

My secret spot in Sydney Putney the old stone steps at the bottom of Tennyson road you look across to Cabarita Park .
I lived on that corner for a number of years and pulled a swag of good size fish out of the river.
    Good luck

Any of the parks from Gladesville up to Ryde bridges will get you onto fish. That stretch of the Parra holds good numbers of bream & flathead. Have a look around the Putney area. Another good spot is to wade out to the sand bank under the Fig Tree Bridge when the tide is dropping & chase flathead. You can get out to it from the western side of the bridge.

Thanks so much to all those whom responded

I am now armed with excellent detail and locations

PS I would be more than pleased to head north and base myself in QLD.

I could even come at wearing a Maroon Jumper given the fact that I am a die hard Tigers man and Scotty Prince was a sole representative this year

Great site which is running here - it is the people that make the site and this one has an enormous number of quality specimens (myself excluded)

i practically live on chipping norton lake and any time i go fishing thers something biting. more often than not its undersize, but as long as theyre biting its fun! (NOTE: i o not recommend eating the fish caught there, theres signs all over the place warning againts eating fish caught there but charlies dont seem to mind em!)

    Re: Shore fishing in Sydney

How come people dont like passing on good places to fish I always do. People might go to these spots but if they dont know what they are doing they wont catch anything so whats the difference?
