Thread: Favourite slugs for Spainards

    Yeah
Let em sink, we often get hit on the drop or in the first few seconds of the retrieve.
They are not designed to be retrieved at flat out pace like say a raider or similar, there action is almost a "flutter". I often cast, allow to drop, then start the retrieve with a ripping motion on the rod , into a medium pace retrieve and about halfway home, let them drop again, and repeat the medium retrieve.

JB-Just put the snapback on the single hook, I have also been wrapping a small piece of copper wire around the top of the snapback to stop it sliding off the hook.

Snapbak is a 4-5 inch softplastic , most commonly a stick bait looking lure. Do a search on google u'll come up with some pics. i think lureworld.com.au has some.

    Hey Leo

aren't you too busy to be cruising around the chats

snapbacks are essentially just another SP - but they seem to be made of this almost indestructible plastic that almost seems to heal itself after being mauled by a toothy critter. If you do a search on this site (on saltwater photos) you will see how effective they seem to be on pelagics. the 5" is still not a big lure - so some people put singles on slugs/slices/jigs etc and hang a snapback on that. I have a few, but still haven't wet them - Jeffs boat is still not on the water. About a week will see us fishing again.
