    Spots near Wurtullah

    Hey guys,
Heading up the north coast for xmas this year, was thinking of taking a rod with me in case there was any fish about. Will be totally land based but was hoping someone could reccommend a few spots. Mainly interested in flathead or trevally, but anything you can give me would be appreciated. I will be based in wurtullah and am willing to drive, but not very far as the family will need the car. Thanks in advance.

mate i hear the mouth of the curramundi lakes fish ok also not bad in the mooloolah river off the jetty or wall but wurtulla beach if you find a good gutter out the front you should be alright for a few flathead or tailor people have been catching trevally off the military jetty at caloundra and the boardwalk

the going to be hard with the tourists around, but if you fish early morning you should get a few flatties and whiting anywhere in the passage.

Look for gutters along currimundi beach at dusk.

There is a half decent one at the moment opposite Thunderbird Drive. Havent thrown in there but have seen the schools while surfing.

My daughter caught a very nice estuary cod a while ago in what I thought would have been way too shallow water on the northern bank of the mouth of Currimundi lake. It was hiding in the shade of a fallen tree. They have been dredging the mouth for some time now but the banks would still be worth a go.

Just an update on my success so far fellas, tried lake currimundi yesterday and caught one tiny flathead and some weird fish with some serious gill spikes. Went to currimundi beach this afternoon and fished right in front of beach entrance 45, caught a few dart, two of which were kept. One of the keepers was my biggest dart yet at well over 40cm and quite a good fight as expected. Will probably try the beach near the lake tomorrow or go back to the same spot, not sure yet. Let me know if you have any other suggestions fellas, you're doing well so far
