Gold Coast canals/lakes

Just want to know what the fishing is like down the coast after the little bit of rain we had the last couple of days. I'm thinking of going for a quick session at one of the lakes or should I be heading down closer to the seaway? I'll be targeting bream, trevally or anything else that decides to have a go at my soft plastics and hard bodies.

if it is anything like the pumicestone passage, it'll be sh!t. 12 hours flicking lures for 1 baby flatty - good luck - tell us how you go.
