Hey guys, really in need of some fishing tips for the pine river as every one I see there seems to be catching fish except me . Well except catfish , I am the catfish king. Last wednesday I got a cattie almost every cast and busted off by an unknown fish after a 15 mineut fight. Anyway any local, tide, bait suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also am willing to share my new crabbing spots with anyone who wants a good feed . Went out 3 days last week and got a minimum of 8 big keepers in the 4 to 5 hours I go out for in the morning. Heres some pics from last wednesdays trip.

How ya going Dylan? I grew up fishing in the pine although I haven't bent a rod there for quite a few moons now.
Old man Pine River is renound for its unrewarding ways, however it can provide for those who persist.
The best advise I can give you from the information you have provided, is to adopt the trial and error method, eg, if you are fishing the mornings, try the arvo's, or, if you are fishing the day time try your luck at night times, tides, up river / down river, baits / lures, different rigs and lines, etc, untill you find something that works better.

From the highway bridge up is where I have done best....just watch the rock bars etc on your travels.....some big cod, flatties and bream hang around them though, so stop and have a cast or two around them!!
Congrats on the crabs, thats a great haul

Try directly under the highway bridge next to the pylons in the deeper channels. I have pulled some nice flathead and bream from those spots. There is "less" fish under the older footbridge.
