Am hoping to take my three kids (9yrG,11yrB,14yrB) out over the next couple of weeks - weather permitting. The boys are seasoned salties but our little girl is still getting used to the open water stuff. Like most other boats, we tend to charge out across the Bay and only consider bait/ fishing once we get to Moreton or beyond.

QUESTION - are there any reasonable spots /locations within easy sight of landfall (Scarborough or Bribie) that has a fair chance of yielding a fish for the kids??

Have occasionally fished places such as South West Spit, Pearl Channel, Western Banks, Gilligan's Island, & the spoil grounds/ Skirmish Banks off Woorim (Bribie Island) with little or no success - admittedly, this was usually done on the way home i.e. late morning/ early afternoon.

Happy to accept any advice on any species, as the kids don't really care whether it's Marlin or Mullet - so long as there is some action - they have a good time.

Regards – Piscatorious.
