i friggin' rod rocky
some say they are good eating but they are better tossed back over for all the time it takes to get the fillets off!
they are great fun however when fishing with 2-4lb spin gear and soft plastics
it's eyes look like that becauses most of thier feeding hunting happens at night but pleanty get caught through the day as they will just eat anything

Here North West Cape WA we call them Frog Fish.
Great eating, I think from memory they are related to Stone Fish.

I have caught quite few of these & threw them back what is the best way to prep them & cook them. Is there another fish that looks similar but uneatable not talkig of a stone fish either.

yo jimbob. the old red rocky. down in nsw they cook them up to taste like lobster, with a bit of imagination & cold the,re okay. if you get a good sized one slip 2 fillets of it & fry in the normal way ther,e okay, all the best, kevy. 8)
