PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant VBA_SCRIPT - assumed 'VBA_SCRIPT' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in ..../includes/functions_navigation.php(802) : eval()'d code on line 1 trolling hutchies
I'm by no means an expert at catching the species you talk of, but the last few times we've fished hutchies for *bycatch* (jeffo is going to spew!), we've managed to get in amongst the hoo and tuna. We usually fish for billies, so when going for bycatch we would leave a few marlin lures out (unless the hoo are thick). We then change 1 or 2 to the likes of malisa's or hexajets and put some hardbody lures out. Trolling at around 6 knots+-, you then work the bait schools and the structure. Good weather weekends at hutchies can be like rush hour in sydney, so its easier trolling during the week or when the weather is a bit ordinary.
They work well on the mackerel. But the good thing about lures is that if they're rigged on wire, you should never loose them, and not have to bother with bait or really tuning them.
