    offshore sounding techniques

    i have a furuno colour sounder and fish the reefs from cape moreton to wide caloundra for primarily bottom fish (shapper pearl perch cod sweetlip etc).

    just curious to see if anyone has any hints on reading sounders in 50 to 100 metres of water - what species show as what colour? school shapes? how far off the bottom? etc

    if anyone has any interesting sounder image photos it would be great.
