    Re: Few Photos from monday

Yeah 4 on board the 2 with the eel the guy holding the cod and me with my phone taking photo's and driving the boat
Ok where to start I put my pots out at about 7 am and checked them roughly once an hour until 12 mid day , so they are only ever out for 5 - 6 hours. This was all out of a bears boat hire boat, thus the daytime hours , if I had my own boat I would do a few night sessions which would only improve the catch even further.

I use half a mullet for bait per pot , and just use those black mesh collapsable pots that ####### sell 4 for $30 .
We had 12 pots out because it was the first time crabbing for one of the guys so he did'nt own any pots.
As for the spots that I put my pots ,well location is everything when it comes to crabbing as far as I am concerned. I am always happy to help people out but would prefer to do it by PM as far as what spots I put my pots ........ dont want to go there next week and see 50 other pots .
Also could use a fair bit of help with my fishing ( not going nearly as well as my crabbing) if anyone is interested in giving me some pointers.

    thanks

Hey mate, your only allowed 10 pots per boat no matter how many people are on board. Have a look at the DPI Fishweb site to get the latest regulations otherwise if you get caught the DPI will delight in slapping you with a big fine. Otherwise top catch, i bet they tasted good that night. Cheers

    Hey macdwp01,

Are you sure your only allowed 10 pots per boat no matter how many people are on board?

I checked out the dpi's site and all it says is...

    Crab pots or dillies
Up to 4 crab pots or dillies (or a combination of pots and dillies) may be used per person.
When fishing for mud crabs and blue swimmer crabs a person in possession of the apparatus
must be at least 15 years old. Crab pots and dillies must be marked by an identifying tag
bearing the surname and address of the owner. When not fixed to something they must
have attached a light coloured surface float, not less than 15cm in any dimension, with the
name of the owner clearly inscribed on it. Regulated crabs must be removed and returned to
    the water immediately.

Have the rules changed, can anyone shed some light on this?

    Can't find a 10 pots per boat rule ???
Just 4 pots per person, max10 crabs per person.

    Re: Few Photos from monday

I didn't think there was a max per boat in general, just per person. (obviously sticking to the max ppl allowed on the boat0
