Direction of Tides in Northern Bay

Not sure if this has been talked about before, but when the tide is coming in, what direction does it flow into the northern bay?

I assume it comes in from the north between Bribie & the Cape. So it that's right, I would expect that on a rising tide, an afternoon N/NE should flatten the bay a bit, but it doesn't seem to have that effect.

    Any comments?

Depends where you are,at Redcliffe on a rising tide with a NE20kn wind, the bay is crap, but over on the inside of Moreton Isle its ok.Anyone on the western side of bay cops it.Thats what I've come to observe.

Being that the bay is totally open and unprotected from N-NE, once it's been blowing for a bit it doesn't matter if it's weak, it still generates a long distance swell which pushes up when hitting all the banks. Also with all the banks and channel current in the bay wind chop usually makes more mess than swell unless N-NE for a while as said before.
