    Tailor Fishing

I have moved to the Faser Coast from Townsville, I would like to know when the tailor season gets under way, and as I dont have a 4x4, accces to some beaches is not possible. If possible where can a bloke get a feed of these fish without having to use a 4x4 in the Fraser Coast region. Thanks. ???

    do you have a boat?
without a 4x4 it's impossible to get to the best beaches for tailor whicj is on fraser island.
but you can catch the odd tailor from the shore a toogoom, between july - october are the best months but a had a friend get a couple a few weeks back but that was from a boat.

    Kevvy,

You can drive a normal car right up to Inskip Point. Then just walk across the beach to the water. I caught 2 very small tailor (about 10-15cms) up there the other weekend.... But if there's small ones, there should be bigger ones as well!

This was just off the beach and only about 3 metres from the edge of the water. You could see them busting up the small baitfish, and I just cast out a small (5cm) silver lure. You could try the smaller Raiders (about 15-20 grams up to 40 grams) or similar type lure.
