Hey Borumba boy, I was in the Toogoom fishing classic about 4 weeks ago and I can tell you that there are heaps of your typical estury species to be had- try the outgoing tide with yabbies on one side of the channell out the front (of Goodys pub)for big whiting, also - if you have a boat try trolling on the dropping tide over the sand flats directly opposite the boat ramp- I pulled 2 decent flathead in 1 hour doing this (biggest - 60cm 1.45KG)... hope this helps

My uncle has lived at Toogum for years and is mad on his fishing.
He has never caught a jack but there is some good grunter ,flathead and cod.In bielby creek go up past the boats moored and on your left there is a fallen down jetty good luck.
p.s my brother caught a legal trout there a few years ago
