Banana Prawns in bottom of bay?

I was wondering if any prawns are around the bottom end of the bay as yet. I would like to have a go at trying to catch a few this year. Can anyone suggest the best tide and moon phase for prawn netting. 8)

heard rumors of some being caught, but mainly greasy's at the moment.

I don't consider myself an expert on prawns, but always found the full moon the best time to try - from memory the run out was pretty good. I will be going out Sunday for the first prawning run this season (unfortunately can't go any earlier - I think Friday is the full moon).

Haven't seen any reports as yet, but I will be looking around the mouth of the Logan and up river a little. If they are around, there will most likely be plenty of boats casting. That is how I stumbled across them for the first time last year!

I vaguely remember Nugget mentioning a few prawns have been in the bay already about two weeks ago - watch his fishing report on Friday night (Channel 10) about 5.55pm - he might give a few tips? (Yes Nugget, that was a request - please!!!)

Also check his website for a bit more info:

A bit early yet. The creeks have produced a few though.

I've heard the Pine River is good for prawns.... Never been out there for them though.... Guy I know said he filled his quota in about 10 minutes last season there!
