    Jack

    Hey guys,
this weekend I'm hoping to get out for my last good fishing trip for a while. We have a boat and live in the brisbane area. I was wondering if anyone knows any good spots on the gold or sunshine coasts where jack are firing at the moment? We were also looking at the Tweed. Cheers,
    Kev

I don't know if Jacks ever fire.
To me it's never the same two trips in a row, you think you got them sorted and then next trip well ???
I think you have to sort of hunt them out a bit.
    Cheers

    Re: Jack

a nasty hot and humid afternoon, the sky thick with mosquitos and sandflies, a stinky stagnant creek with many places to lose your favourite lures - i think thats where they are firing.
I'll give you a spot - Coochin Creek, on the right hand side not far past moby dicks on the way to Mooloolaba and Sunny coast.

    Hey Kev?

If they don't want to bite, they won't. I have started my fishing diary of all the Jacks I catch and nothing is consistent yet. Different moons, tides, baits, lures, etc. I have thrown lures on to visable Jacks and watch the lures land on their heads without them moving an inch. However, the last session I had, I got 6 and one was caught in 1 foot of water about 200 meters from the nearest snag. Sorry Kev, but God himself is still pondering when they like to eat and when they don't. My advise, try everything at anytime.
    Good luck mate.

Thanks all. I figured as much in terms of the unpredictability. I have only recently started targeting jacks to no avail yet. Thanks raefpud for the spot, I'll have to give it a go.
