    Sharks off Jervis Bay

Is there anyone out there who has been fishing much around the Banks and the Block & Cheese off JB lately? The last month or so I can't seem to keep any baits away from the Bronzies! Seeing lots and lots of Marlin though.... Any tips on how to keep the sharks away?

    Extradry,

Tuesday is looking good, am heading out then. Will more than likely have a troll (Plastics for beakies) then anchor up on NE corner of the banks and put out some livies under balloons. We have hooked at least 20 Bronzies and Makos in the last few trips and had rat kings chomped in half on the way in. Marlin are freeswimming on the surface all over the place, we have only hooked 2. Been getting the odd Dollie on the fad at the Block. I will post on Tuesday and let you know how we went.

Dunno Max, but there are beakies by the truckloads out the front so chances are they have been getting a few off the rocks..

    starvation-bay.

FAD on the block is about 12-13kms off Currarong. I guess if you pick your day you can go anywhere in a bathtub.... My current tinne is only 15ft and I have a rule that if winds above 15 knots are forecast then the boat stays dry... There are plenty fish to be had closer in, but you get "the grass is greener" syndrome after a while. If you go to the NSW fisheries web site it gives you the GPS locations of all the FAD's in NSW. Check it out...\

    Boxhead

we got one on monday on a slimie .
No free swimmers around like the week before when we got 2
    and saw 6 free swimmers.
Worked out that the change of tide period is the best.

    approx 120kg and released healthy
