Going on holidays there on Friday, mostlt diving but of course fishing as well.
Bohol area.
Taking ma traveling gear with me:
2 x 4 piece overhead 30lb rods with Abu 9000 two speed, spooled with 50lb PowerPro: trolling.
1 lighter 20lb, 4 piece overhead rod with Daiwa 203 with 30lb braid: light trolling or ???
1 telescopic spin rod with Abu 3000 spin reel.
Basic plan as usual, rent a local fisherman boat and go out trolling Rapalas.
Maybe some fishing from the beach,
Somenthing else???
From what I've seen when I went back home last your best bet would be to concentrate your efforts in the outer islands like Palawan. There is no way in hell I would eat anything that came from anywhere near Manilla, picture a river that looks like a constant oil slick and you will get the picture. Have fun mate and make sure to let us know how you go.
szopen,
Are you staying a night in Manila on the way through to Bohol?
If so let me know, I'm living in Makati. Can help arrange a San Miguel hangover for you.
Cheers
Jeff
Thanks for the offer Jeff, but it looks like we will be able to skip staying in Manila overnight both ways.
The connections from Hongkong match quite well.
Niz,
The water in the Pearl River here is on the smelly side as well, now is much better than it used to be but it still really stinks (have huge catfish there though).
