    Whiting size?

We were fishing over the weekend on the Hawsbury river at theMooney Mooney railway bridge, were I landed a 41cm Whiting - since I never caught a Whiting before (new to Australia) - is that a good size?

    Cheers,

    Pete

27cm is legal so you caught yourself a whiting and 3/4

That is a monster whiting. Great fish. BEGINNERS LUCK! why do all the beginners always slay the older ones?

    Re: Whiting size?

41 cm is a very large whiting i caught some at easter which were 43 cm long and weighed around 6-700 grams.................. photo does look a little funny. [smiley=shocked2.gif]

using a rule to scale the bottle and fish..... a normal stubbie is 60mm, on screen its 6mm in diameter. scaling the fish which on my screen is approx 48mm therfore the fish in relation to the stubbie would realy be 48 cm long.

No expert on fish identification am I, but I can't confidently assert that that is a bottle of Becks (of standard size) :-)
