    Never fished that area, but I have had a lot of success elsewhere with live yabbies or worms (blood or beach). I have also used live soldier crabs for the bigger ones.

    yer mate live yabbies will be the go there...last time i was fishin near the mouth of caboolture river i was driftin using live whiting and nailed some nice lizards too...

    blood worms, tube worms or beach worms are the best especially if they are very fresh/live.

    if your chasin winter whiting them cut small bits of squid up anfd give them a bash to soften it. the winter whiting love it and it stays on for longer.

    Live yabbies are good, but pretty soft and come off the hook easy. I prefer worms or strips of squid.

    Wriggler worms, dig for them on coarse shelly beaches under the piles of seagrass , deadly, make sure its legal to do so before you dig.

    I lived at Beachmere for 10 years.

    Best bait I always found for summer whiting and winter whiting were live blood worms. The shop at the private boat ramp in Whiting Street used to sell them. Never went chasing worm myself when for a few dollars they came wrapped in newspaper.

    i heard from a couple of mates they have real success on bullocks heart cut into thin strips and threaded on ? they fish moreton bay and catch plenty
