    Live Bait Tanks

I need advice. I am going to build a cheap bait tank to put on my 4.55 Quinee. Anyone got any setup ideas. I want to preserve space so I am thinking of seting up on the outside of the boat on the step board at the back of the boat.

If you are after a small portable one, Sunny (Carelton) from here bought one the other week. It was like a soft plastic collapsible bucket that had a mesh zip up lid, with a clear plastic lid zipped over the top. It came with a small aerator (Similar to a Fish Tank one) that ran on 2xD cell batteries. We had about 10-12 big slimies in it for the whole day, and they were still kicking when we hooked on the last one in the early evening. I think they sell for about $60 or so, but if you want something small and portable to keep a couple of livies in, then this would be good.

The mesh lid was a good idea, cause you can zip it closed and dunk it into the ocean to put fresh water in it. We did this about 10 times during the day.
