some cures that have fixed me

    1) drag starts screaming off to New Zealand
    2) driving the boat (fixes me everytime)
    3) driving the boat in seas too big for my boat (this will stop the spewing, but may start things the other end)
    4) I've heard staring at the horizon, but I'm not sure if it works
    5) never, never try to untangle some line sitting down near the back of the boat where all you can see is the inside of the boat and smell fuel.

    cheers

    Too true Rob
Haven't been crook for a while now - touch wood. Used to use the stick on patches when I did alot of diving but can't get them anymore - they had some wild side effects with a couple of beers.

dont have a cure, but a tip if you are sick.
if you have been hanging over the side bringing
up bile from the pit of your stomach for more than
30 minutes, if you feel something furry at the back of
your throat, swallow quickly.. it's your arsehole....

    Re: Seasickness "the cure"

I used to get sick pretty bad. I started using ginger. It worked but could be a mind over matter thing. I used to find that having something to eat (vegemite on toast) at least half an hour before going out would help. Coffee was not good.

I found that once I started getting sick my appetite would go off and that included thirst. Then I would do the lie down on the floor and before you knew it slimey carrots would be spilling over the side.

I had to force myself to drink and snack on biscuits once out in the boat. So it would be Bundaberg Ginger Beer and Arnotts Ginger Nuts. Not sure how long I did this for but I eventually could go without them. Now I always make sure I drink plenty of water. Have never been sick since.

    Boys

Personally i am a lucky one but have been fishing with many people that do get sick and it ruins you day. You almost have to refuse taking them if they are going to be sick all day. But luckily there is a cure. They are pressure bands.

What you do is put the band around you left wrist before bed or at least and few hours before you go out into any swell. They place pressure on the veins under you wrist and stop the effects of motion sickness.

I thought that it was all bullshit too, but have seen the most violent vomiters be cured on the spot. I don't know if they help in mid flight though will stop people from getting sick. You also do not give the drousiness feeling that kwell often do, often put you to sleep or not want to fish.

You can buy them a chemist shops around the place.

Have a crack.... they are worth it

I reckon Dom is spot on
I used to get sick regularly .... started wearing poofy wrist bands and all was cured ... then the girl came out with me so I offered my 'cure' to her and subsequently burleyed all day. > Have now invested in a 2nd pair and what a great investment it was - a lifesaver for $10 well worth it imho.
