    jeez drew,

    i wouldn't say it was a dark green

    a greenback has the colour the ocean takes under a summer storm - that glowing translucent aqua green.
    the green fades to bronzed colour after death as below - you need to see a live greenback to see it.

    choppers have a steel blue back - in some parts where they speak funny they call them "steel backs".

    They are the same fish, just a change in colouration as they grow - maybe as they become more the hunter than the hunted.
    Big horse whiting get called blue-noses. Red emporer look some some sort of St George supporter as a juvenile fish.

    ok chris maybe not dark green, but greener then choppers and they almost turn black directly on top after death, or am i just fishing in the dark to much...

    nice tailor, big fella looks about 3.5..

    Picked up 2 greenbacks last night one 44 and 52 cm fishing 36 ers S E Gold Coast
