DOES ANYONE HAVE PICS OR WEBSITE THAT EXPLAINS WHAT THE CONDITIONS OF THE BAR AT THE NORTHERN END OF FRASER ISLAND CAN GET LIKE ?
JUST HEARD A STORY ABOUT IT TODAY AND THEY RECON ITS MORE WILD THAN THAT WATER AT INSKIP BAR.

Its one bar you dont want to stuff up on Brad, for example you can be 10km from land at a regular crossing and its in the heart of tiger shark country, the fishing is outstanding though but best travelled in company, have attached a pic I took last time over it, around the 4mile crossing looking back toward the cape and another in the gutter.

Yes Brad, this place can be a ' bugga '. Have been across it a few times now, and once in a 50footer, it was ordinary, and even didn't feel safe in that.
last year , early, a Hydrofield from the Hervey Bay fishing club went over there. skipper had been crossing that bar for thirty years, and ya think he would have an idea. ?

Looks to be around 12km for the worst of it by my mapping software I am sure there would be gutters/deeper sections to get out way before then, but am only guessing.

i heared it goes 35k north of sandy cape
goes all the way up to the lightship , but there is 4 or 5 crossings before then
