Hi guys,
Jackash and Myself are planning a trip to Wello, just wondering whether there are any bait shops in the immediate vicinity?? Any advice would be appreciated ++
If not - best spots to catch pike/other livies??

There is also a bait shop in the shops along main street - opposite the pub - Wellington point marine plus you can also get reasonably good frozen bait at the BP (24 hours) on the main roundabout near the pub.

Thanks for that guys. Is it possible to anchor and burley there or does that just mean grinners and grinners and maybe a few more for good luck... or can u get the squire and reefies this way. I know u guys seem to only use softies but would this also work. But yeah we shall defaintely b giving the softies a good hard work out. (hopefully with some fish)

Budds Bait & Tackle is worth a try also. They're just before the roundbout (left hand side)on Finucane Rd/Wellington St as you come down the hill into Cleveland. Map 185 H or J15.
Jackash you will get plenty of undersize squire if you anchor up and burley but we seem to get the bigger fish on the plastics.
Summer time during the day you will get good grass sweetlip on whole fresh squid.
Find a reefy spot with some weed hanging off the bottom structure and your in for a top session.
BAIT NIGHT TIME DUSK AND DAWN / PLASTICS DURING THE DAY AND INTO THE NIGHT ON THE FULL MOON.

Fritzy,Heed the wiseman Aquarius be anchored up before daylight or just before dusk with a LIGHT berly trail the unders & pike will still annoy but the bigger fish will push in when they come on the chew, you can also do yourself a big favour & ring around the seafood places & find one selling cuttlefish believe me it will be worth the little bit of extra effort,try to get the small ones(that would fit in the palm of your hand) these outfished all else at Huybers our last bait trip 8) . Thanks for the info. Sounds like a plan... softy it up during the arvo then after night fall/on night fall anchor up and get the burley going. Thanks guys.

Guys, Frizy and I jsut bought some 10 lb trilene. Will this work as leader as it is only monofilament and not flourocarbon. Looks good in the pack though but im not sure??
