I like fresh calamari or squid, small pieces on a small suicide hook. Cast into the more shallow washes. If there is rocks along the beach or a breakwall etc than the wash around them would be best.

Ive found that if the bream are on the chew, they will eat just about anything

for me its.... gut (any type, tailor gut works well), pipis as well as small strip baits of tuna or similar, dont forget a big heap of live beach worms bunched on a hook
