Re: Seasickness, do you fight it?

Well after 70 votes I reckon its pretty well settled that over 60% of us are affected by the scurge and the other 38% or so need to come out with me on a rough day and untangle my baitrigs
My only addition to the issue is that I think regular experience offshore helps a lot.
    thanks for the votes guys.

nope ..resigned to the fact i'm one of the unlucky ones..my system of semi survival is ..no fatty food night before, no milk in b/f cup o tea, x2 packets of arrnotts 'nice' biscuits and x2 litre bottles schweppes leomonade..The biscuits are nibbled thro the day chased with leomonade.. end product(burley) comes back up smooth mushy consistancy, therefore no cuts or scatching in my throat. and best of all no gut burning bile on the way back up. Taken reguarly it supplies plenty of burly for live baiting catching for my brother. I can at least survive a day (8hrs) in the briny (bryn-e) office

i have never felt sick at sea and its puzzling to see someone go all green in the pits of their eyes' then burley over the side.
maybe its a sign that you shouldn't be out there....catching my fish!

Go the red bull and V drinks. If i took one of them while out i'd be striking like a maniac and running around the boat telling people to get the gaff wen i get a hit and trying to swim after fish that i miss.
But usually i just take half a travacalm and im good. Only been seasick once and that was enough to convert me to tablets.
Mind you i do get drowsy too. Fell asleep up the front of the CC one day while watching the alvey scream off with a 12foot shark on it. Had to ask my mate to get him in on my rod. Didnt turn him but got a good look at the bastard.

The in-laws reckon they swirl a mouth full of salt water when they feel seedy and that works a trick for them god knows old wifes tailes i guess

Im one of those who suffer but im slowly getting over it.I went to sea on a long liner for 3 weeks in rough weather.I was sick for 3 days didnt eat a thing then suddenly I was hungry and never sick for the rest of the trip,no matter how rough. Then a year later I buy my boat and start going offshore again and it all starts again.

I just try and not think about it and keep fishing,if I think it will be a bit sloppy I take a pill.I reakin you just gotta rough it and try to become naturally used to it or you may never get over it.Well thats my plan of attack.
Just hope one day I can finnaly say I dont get sea sick....

Give a man a fish, he'll eat it and fall asleep.

Teach a man to fish and he'll endanger an entire species
