Re: Seasickness, do you fight it?

A couple of guys on our fishing trip had these bracelets with stategically placed plastics sphere shaped buttons over pressure points around there wrists that worked and they swear by them. I usually pop a Kwell if I felt a bit quezy which worked.

Take anything ginger, it settles your stomach, take a packet of ginger nuts out with you and munch on them the whole way out, and if you still feel a bid odd have a ginger beer, it really does work

Mini I am like you. Never been seasick but do get headaches often. Have found for the headaches 'Panafen Plus' works great.

I really wish you'd have been beside me the countless times I yaked half packets of ginger nuts overboard

I never used to get sick, but after seeing some other bugger get crook one day that was it for me. Since then, I have to take travacalm before heading outside or I end up incapacitated on the deck for the day. Once it hits me I'm finished.

Well on the stats so far it looks like the pressure bandages are not getting huge usage yet. Guessing kwells & ginger is the top player here. Interesting stats.
Still wondering why the kids can go on the flying carpet at seaworld all day and I just look at it and get sick, yet take them offshore and urgggg

I might spell them wrong but avomine tablets are the only thing that stop me from getting sick and i have tried most of the others. you just take one the night before and good to go the next day not even sleepy or dry in the mouth also i have to keep eating.

1 Kwell half hour before departing and Im fine all day.
Although Ive only been sick once and that was cause the wife was burleying and while trying to help her I let go.
Been out a few time and forgot the kwells and been fine all day, but since most of my trips offshore have been on charters I try and take the tablets (better to be safe then spewing)

one of my good mates, his father has been a yatchie his whole life, and said seasickness is based on mentality, if you think you will get sick, then you will...the best thing is to just wet your line straight away, and get into the fishing and it goes away

seasickness is caused by the nodes in your ears getting out of balance there fore loosing your sence of uprightness and therefore getting nausious and then sick. Normally offshore i am fine but i have only ever seemed to have trouble when it gets really rough in the bay. Weather it's the close sets or the lack off fish in the bay it's the only few 2 times that i have got sick.
I dont normally take a pill because i think i have mentally given into the seasickness curse....

Take one shot of Bundabergg rum, with 200mls of coke.
    Repeat hourly or as required.
Then after 3 hours, take 2000mls of Bundaberg rum, with a shot of coke.
Follow this with a bundaberg of shot and 200 cokes of mils and you won't know much about it !!

Yep. I can get that sick I feel like my toes are coming out my mouth. But it is all good fun. Getting better the more I go out. I have some sea sick pills that help a bit but I think a lot of it is mind over matter. I hope I am there the day when Brejen spews because I will take a photo of it and post it on here. Nothin' worse than someone never getting sick while ur hurling yer guts up, especially if they're onto fish. Lucky for me it's only happened twice. Once on Bill Coretons boat, sorry Bill.
