At christmas we ended up walking the boat into the area.... HAHA and defaintely wasnt worth the effort full of weed. But id guess that wouldve cleared out by now, but there possibly may ahve been a smallish channel you could follow into the area from upstream of the area.
Cheers,
JAckash
hahahaha yeh asho the weed has cleared up was seriously thick then though!!! Was up there about a month ago and went into the frying pan a couple of times. Found we could get in and out on most tides with no real trouble, we found the fishing not really worth the effort not picking up much at all but spent most of our time in woods bay! Anyway sorry cant give too much info as the old man was normally driving hope this helps!
Yeh its not to much trouble to get in there, just a few banks to dodge but there isn't much action in there recently. You remember how the frying pan used to be open at both ends ? It's opening up again over near the bar which should fire it up once again when it gets some fresh water flowing through there.
there are many entrances to the pan, just hard to find, the one at the bar which is pretty much a high tide only entrance, the one starting ay t boat hire which leads straight to the island, the old one straight off munna point has now kind of filled in but my newest one is on the way to the bar just before you come round the fast flowing sharp corner which seems to be the fastest in the tinny.
good news is that the water there is very clear and has quite a good population of tailor and bream which is good popper fun.
