Whitsundays ?
looking to go on one of those cats for a week in november in the whitsundays and was hoping someone could shed some light on the best places to get some fish?
The boat only does 9 knots so i guess distances are an issue?
Was hoping for some pelagic action and can take lots of outfits to cater if needbe
Never fished up there so havent a clue what to expect come november. Its a family outing , but i can't go on a boat and not fish
Any info is appreciated ,

Re: Whitsundays ?
g'day
if i was you i'd get a handful of lure that can be trolled at 9knots and always have them out the back when you are travelling. other wise troll around headlands and reef edges for pelagics. if you have a small tender, you can get in that for an hour or two or ten and find the bommies around the egdes of the bays and inlets, just take some medium - heavy casting gear and throw some lures around(poppers, bomers, tilsans, etc) we have done this in the area and got plenty over the years(GT's(some unstoppables),queenies, trout, cod, stripeys, etc). theres 3 or 4 tackle shops to visit in canonvale/airlie beach they should give you some info.
good luck

Thanks for the reply Mick, do you recommend any particular island / area to concentrate on ?

g'day
when i have fished their i have found that most of our pelagic fish have been caught around the northern point of north molle island, and the points/headlands of nara and macona inlets on hook island.
