    mudcrabs at whitsundays?

    Gday all,
Going up to the whitsundays in a few weeks on one of those rent-a-yachts. i am taking the tinny up aswell and hoping to get into some fish. Was wondering however if there are any creeks on the islands that hold muddies, and if it is worthwhile taking a few pots up? We might be a bit far away from the coast most of the time to crab in the creeks on the mainland. Also never fished up there before and was just planning to troll bait/lures for macks and try some reef fishing, any ideas or places to start?
    cheers
    mick

I once dropped some pots in the creek at the top of Whitehaven Beach. We got a great feed of Muddies and a couple of Cod that I would have sworn were too big to actually get in the pot. A very fishy spot.
