    phosphorenscence?

    gday all,

cant remember the spelling. just wondering if you think it hampers fishing, particularly in the estuaries? last night there was heaps in the pine, and thought it may have restricted things. also, do you think it's best to fish in pockets with schools of baitfish, or find areas they aren't so prevalent? we were using livies we got from the same area, but there were hundreds of others around. we targeted jacks. had one bust up and the rest boated were those slimy bloody croakers! anyway your advice'd be great. thanks heaps.

I ve found that phosy stuff definetly makes things quiet.Especially in a current ,it makes your line light up like big neon lights saying (CAUTION ,FISHERMAN AT WORK)

I don't like fishing when the phosphorous is about. I have found that it spooks the fish. This is only my opinion though, possibly others would differ. And as for fishing with schools of baitfish - if there is plenty of fresh livies around why would a fish want to take yours??!!!
    Just my thoughts

    Cheers

With the livie, don't go injuring it too much, you can simply trim off part of the tail, the top fin and it will swim up as I recall, and trim the bottom fin and it will swim down. I am sure if you do something similar to a pectoral fin it would then swim in an erratic sideways motion, like turning a corner.

So maybe bottom tail fin, and a pectoral fin to make it swim downwards and around to one side?

    Anyone elses thoughts on this?
You say fish, I say yes please.

I've found with the phosphoresence, that it is great time to net up some livies actually, and some shrimp at same time.

At least you know where you are at night with it around. Is fun stuff to play with too lol. Take the kids down and teach them something about nature!

Cutting the fins off livies works well as too many injuries to them shorten their usefulness. I think if you leave them uncut they will hide amongst rock and weed on the bottom or under your float if you use one. Fish ain't dumb!
