    North coast LBG

    Gidday,
just wondering about fishing from the stones up in this part of the world, I know there have been innumerable articles written on it but they're all pretty vague and only really focus on the one day where they catch one fish.

I'd like to know a bit more detail, like how the hell do you get to the ledge that is always written about in articles about "Hat head". I was up in this part of the world last week and spent several hours trying to find what I thought looked like the ledge in the articles and couldn't.
The headland that was marked as hat head looked crap, extremely shallow and full of boulders and sand.
Is the ledge in the articles on the north side of Kogoro point?? and if it is where is it in relation to the little sandy bay?

Also what is Point Perpendicular near Camden Haven like for LBG? It looks like a really good ledge and there are rod holders there but could someone please give me some personal experience from this spot?

    Thanks

    Mick

    Hi Mick,

Couldn't find a map for Hat Head, but here's one for Camden haven and some info.

    Hope it helps.

I could tell you.. but then I'd have to ..... etc etc. Best bet is to pretend you are a mountain goat and walk walk walk...... bloody big hills around here.. but if you look you should find plenty of good spots. Water is still a little too cool for LBG, but no harm looking around.

    Thanks for the info.
jewseeTHAT: I spent about 4 hours (5-9am) walking around Kogoro point with a full pack and rods looking for the spot, was not fun....! I'm guessing it looks to shallow to hold any real fish??
I'll have to head back up later in the season (around feb?) for another try.

    Cheers

Ive seen big tuna caught off the bricks in 4-5 metres of water, dont discount a ledge too quickly just on water depth!!! I believe presence of bait is the key.
just a thought, hope it helps
