Double Island Point Photo's Wanted

Does anyone have any good photos of Double Island Point, mainly where you can rock fish from. I was just wanting to know where and what the area is like before I fish there.

It's along Rainbow Beach, Inskip Point is at one end and Double Island Point is at the other. I think theres a wreck up that way .

There are plenty of good rock platforms around the point but as with all rock fishing the weather has to be kind. It can get very dangerous in big seas and strong wind. Its also a bit of a hike so be compact when taking gear up. A floatation device would be handy if you are new to the area. Sorry no photos that show a particular spot.

yeah i always go the double island point in winter for taloir but havnt been there for a while and there is hardly anything left of the cherry venture lats time i nwas up there was about 6 mounths ago causght my mate caught a massive tuna on the calm side on a raider big school of them but you will need a good reel and rod to get to htose schools they are faily far out but never been to the rock right up at the point but never come back empty haned great place to fish just take a tent etc and the 4WD cheers krause

Here's a few pics i hope will help. Mate Being your first time i would be re-thinking your thoughts. many have lost lives off these rocks and it's a hell of an effort to get to the good fishing area. The best way to get onto the best fishing rock areas is from the Bayside of DI. At the moment you can't drive your vechile up to the headland because of the erosion on the beach. It would be a couple km walk just to reach the rocks then a long way around and down to the rocks.

This is the bayside and top right of the pic is where you need to walk around. As you can see it's a long walk just to get to the rocks as you have to park the 4x4 just back from where this pic was taken.

This is just as you come around the corner from the bayside and where alot of rock fishermen go. It can be a bugger just to get to there
