I moved to Melbourne from Brisbane a couple of years ago and, I'm sad to say, I haven't been fishing since I moved here. But that's all going to change.
Up there, my favourite type of fishing was for luderick. I didn't realise until yesterday that there were luderick in Victoria. I don't know why, but I'd always had it in my mind that the south coast of NSW was the end of them. Needless to say, I'm rapt to know that I can go on the hunt for some Victorian blackfish. And I intend on doing so. I just need some spots.
Can someone please tell me some good day trip spots reasonably close to Melbourne? I'm out in the eastern suburbs, so I was thinking Western Port might be a goer. I read on the internet yesterday that Lang Lang has some good blackfish. That would be close enough for me.
Also, more generally, any tips for Victorian blackfishing? Times of year, bait, etc?
