    J's or Circles on pitchbaits?

Experimenting with bait'n'switch. Does anyone have experience with this technique? Also do you use J's or cicles? I use circles on my livies and J's on my skipbaits.

    cheers

    George,

I'm still yet to give the bait and switch a serious attempt. I've done it a few times on other boat but am only just getting setup to do it. It seems the most effective way to switch is with livies, and I'm now happy to use circles with them after a bit of mucking around. Will you be pitching livies or dead baits? It's a mad rush when you get 6 small blacks up on the teasers and you pitch that bait out!

Granville uses his Top Guns, Damon was using circles when I went with him in March and the other Sunny Coast boats I have been on in recent weeks have been on the light gauge circles. Most people are tending to dead skip baits so you can watch the bait get eaten and know what to do. If you pitch a livey it will most likely get trashed due to water pressure and go bugeyed if you don't slow up and won't be usable next time. With a deadbait you can keep travelling at the same speed.

use dead yakkas first, bridle rigged on eagle claw circles (had great success with them so far). have a livie ready to incase the fish doesnt seam interested in the dead bait. only done it a few times but its bloody great fun.
