Are cobia really good eating? Not too many catch and release shots, which (before I get slayed) I don't have a problem with.
my 19kg job was released... we release heaps actually.. only keep 1 or 2.. Rob and I have caught around 30 in the last week together only keeping 6.. around the 10kg mark..

seems like you have been getting a few good ones on soft plastics lately.
Would you mind sharing what techniqe you have been using with the SP's.
Slow raising & lowering action of the rod - like alot of people do with snapper??
Or a more agressive action like jigging for kingies??
Lenny
Tim goes at it like a wild dog in heat, you gotta see it its quiet hilarious!!!![]()
Had a memorable session at Western Rocks about this time of year a couple of years ago. A 29kg on 24kg line by Keith Hall that now owns Incredible charters, my 26kg on 10kg line and Rossco's (Fin-addict) 21kg on 10. All weighed on certified scales for ANSA masters. Has anyone else seen that awesome home video from inside the bay of was it Ian Brown (guy that had that big Lightning then had the 5.8 Sportfish Centre Cab that was in all the Sportfish ads) from around some of the beacons and a lot of the footage was off a big sailing cat? That was an awesome Cobia session. Would be around 10 years ago now.
Are you absolutely sure those scales were correct??
That thing is huge, looks bigger than 29 kg if you ask me. Absolutely gigantic!!
Great work.
Cheers Fritzy
nah Fritzy, they are just really small fellas.. lol
