I caught a huge one in the shallows at the Hornibrook highway years ago at night.Took ages to get in,attracted a bit of a crowd as people could see me and my friend taking turns at playing it on a surf rod and 6inch alvey with 15 lb line.We couldn,t get it up on the bridge but estimated him to be 10-11 ft long.

i prefer the more conventional shark .....
This one ain't huge ...but not a bad effort land based on 10 kg mono ...and an ALVEY ( if i do say so myself )

I HAVE A FAIL SAFE METHOD OF DEVOURING OUR BELOVED STINGRAYS...
YOU WILL NEED:
1. A LARGE HOUSE BRICK
2. A SMALL FRESHLY BEATEN STINGRAY
3. A LARGE POT

FIRSTLY BOIL SOME WATER IN A POT, THEN ADD THE BRICK, THEN THE ,AHEM, STINGRAY. CONTINUE TO BOIL UNTIL THE RAY HAS COMPLETLY DISOLVED, (THIS COULD TAKE HOURS!) THEM DRAIN THE LIQUID THEN SERVE THE BRICK WITH A SIDE OF CHIPS, SPRIG OF PARSLY AND A WEDGE OF LEMON.

IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY GOING TO EAT A DIRTY FILTHY FUC./KING RAY THAN YOU CANT CONSIDER UR SELF A FISHERMEN! THEY ARE THE RAT OF THE OCEAN!!! DIRTY FILTHY

well i challenge anyone to try 'chilli stingray' from newtons circus in singapore and walk away not thinking its great................one of the best dishes i have ever eaten..........not to mention their chilli mudcrab............
