About 10 years ago my mate and I decided to have a last minute crabbing trip in the Logan River after a quick stocktake in the freezer for crab bait our supply was rather low so my mate says to me would they eat pigeon's I said I suppose if they are fresh so he went to his work with his slug gun and shot about 8. We put them in the pots with a half a mullet and the next morning we had 12 keepers from 8 pots and in most pots the pigeon was ripped to pieces and the mullet was untouched.

On the way to crabbing we saw a dead kangaroo by the side of the road so we grabbed that and cut it up. A word to the wise ; please do not cut the gut. Was very successful for the people who opened our crab pots and took everything .
