I keep mine in the bar fridge and have a cooler pack for when i take them in the boat. Is this practice good or bad do you think. I'm wondering if the temp of the bait puts fish off.
i find berkley dropshots when out in the hot sun start to tear alot easier
we used to put the tray of dropshots in the esky so they would remain a bit cooler
Terminator snapbacks just melt into blobs if they get to hot, fridge might be a good idea for long term storage, i doubt it would affect your catch rate because it would only take a couple of mins for the plastic to adjust to the water temp.
had the berlky soft plastics dvd they recomend that you keep them chilled when fishing to stop the sun melting them so i would think if the packet is open keep them chilled at all times
A lot of people in the US use old bodies (or cheap ones) and after melting pour their own.
After going into water for maybe 2 minutes max the plastic will be the same temperature as water (unless it was frozen solid this may take a bit longer or attract fish looking for an ice cream).
I got plastics that have been floating around in my tackle box for over a year on may trips out in the sun and they're all fine, think they can stay there till I need em. Besides, no room in the fridge, need that for beer.
Yes i've never refigerated them and I fish in Qld.
I did accidentally let a new packet of gulp minnows dry out...just put a couple of spponfuls of water in the packet and sealed em up for a week and they were like new again. (learned that from leaving contact lenses dry out when going to bed drunk)
cool i was just dreaming about a make your own sp centre. like to be able to choose what mould and size you like etc and make it up like jelly. SWeeeeet.
you could choose your glitter fleck colour yourself as well as mount whatever type jighead you want. The options are endless.
gulp, saltwater, flickbaits. All in the colours you choose.
