Re: Prawns
I hear the Yellow Raincoats are on the prowl around Karragarra Is. and the W's and as these guys wipe out anything and everything that is wet and lives in the salt water, maybe they prawns are on the move!

Where is deep water bend? Is it in the Logan River, Cabbage Tree Point or Gold Coast areas.

Re: Prawns
I live 2 minutes away from the mouth of the logan on russell, lots of boats and not getting much at all. However, big ass trawler there so cant be to far away.
As for the w's and karra i was through there today and didnt see one boat throwing for them. Thats not tooo say they weren't there.
But when they hit the mouth of the logan i will sure know about it as i park my car at rocky point and watch and wait.

Re: Prawns
Deep Water Bend is on the Pine River north of Brisbane (2005 UBD map 100 ref B15).
There is a boat ramp there, gets very busy and tends to suffer from the light fingered brigade.

Re: Prawns
I know that for the past week they have been getting heaps of banana prawns at deep water bend. Everytime i launch, there are about a dozen guys standing side by side throwing their cast nets. Some of them say they been getting 3-4Kg a day. The only thing is the trawlers have started moving in, but are only allowed to go upriver as far as pine river bridge.
There are also lots people using cast nets from their boats on the western side of the pine bridge but not sure what the prawning is like up there.
