    Re: Motion Sickness

I always take ginger beer, dry ginger ale and ginger snap biscuits for my daughter who says she gets sea sick.. She has never heaved yet, mind you I think she enjoys the attention! But if I get to stay out longer, so be it...cheers

Keep busy and feel confident. I told my son to keep his jaw moving and that seems to help him. He chews gum or a bag of lollies. For me I just keep talking to my friends.

How about trying green ginger wine, on those cold nights it could just work.

Just have to earn your sea legs and just 1 more thing...DON'T GO OUT ON A CAT.

Also constant munching on dry bickies like bbq shapes or sa ka ta s, helps heaps , gets the murky taste out of your mouth & gives your stomach something to do, worst comes to worst, they're good berley to.
(Used to give my young bloke heaps of em until he stopped getting crook, now he never gets crook at all, just wants to eat all the bickies)

Stay off the turps the night before and try and have a good night's sleep. Keep a packet of Quik-Eze in your pocket and keep the fluids up, especially the fizzy soft drinks. Don't be afraid to eat, but if you think a Jimmy Thunda is on the cards, only eat soft things like sandwiches. If you eat things like chips, nuts and biscuits, and if the worst happens, it will be like spewing up nails and broken glass. Also, stay out on the deck as much as you can and get plenty of fresh air on your face; stale air in cabins is the worst thing if you're a bit on the crook side. Don't stare at the horizon or at the water. But, if all this fails and a chunda is imminent, don't fight it, just do it and get it over with; you'll be surprised how much better you'll feel afterwards. If you're going to get seasick, there is very little you can do about it, particularly if you're prone to that sort of thing. I used to get it BAD, but I just kept going and I eventually came good, but it was a long and bumpy road.

    Cheers,
    NICK.

Thanks guys. I'm sure I will earn my sea legs. I tried raw ginger and that seems to work for now, bad taste though!

all the above are good or you could just keep buying larger boats till you find a un- spewy medium.

I used a slice of lemon and it worked for me and others on the boat.
take a lemon with you and when you start feeling sick
bite into a slick of lemon.
