Top base to launch from - lots of options - suggest you do search various boards using names of spots you are likely to fish - its amazing what you can learn here.

Thanx for the reply,
The problem is i dont know the names of any fishing spots out from Bribie all i know is Moreton Bay and i have done a lot of searching on the topic and see names of a lot of places and i dont know where they are i have been able to find a lot from the Brisbane and south of that and a lot out the front of the sunshine coast but not much out the front of Bribieand into the bay.
I found a name that said the bribie banks anyone got a GPS mark for that and is it the south end or the north end of Bribie

GO down to your local library and check out books on the bay. There have been a few guides over the last few years, with maps etc etc.
Get a chart, head out the the beacons on Spitfire channel, you can usually jig up some livies from any of those beacons , drop them straight back down. Around change of tide is good , lot of current otherwise. Alos pays to troll around North of the Spitfire Channel, also you will see some rubble grounds on the chart find some interesting ground with your sounder to try.
If all else fails anchor up near all the other boats out there, (not too close though).
Thank you for that
I will give it a try when the weather clears up.
My first trip in the boat out to the bay now have some where to go
Thanx again

Thankyou for the help
I want to get out there and try but the weather is crazy
Soon as it clears i am out there to give it a try
I have been to the Caboolture library as it is the biggest around here and they dont have much in the way for fishing Moreton bay
A few books with what fish are out there but no good locations
Its a mitey big bay and could spend a lot of time out there searching to end up with no results.
I enjoy exploring and thanx to all i have a couple of base locations to start at and i can take it from there.
I have seen a lot of boats sitting at a beacon just out of the passage fishing.
Dose anyone know what they are fishing for?
The other weekend there was about 15 boats sitting there and thought they may be after whitting but there have been a lot of squire in the passage at the moment.
All the help is great thank you to all
Cheers

Inside the passage the bridge often fishies well close to the top of the tide, and spinnaker sound is a excellent ramp
gary the 1st beacon south of the passage is a favorite haunt for whiting,,,, if you come in a bit and fish th edges round buckleys hole you can generally pick up a feed of flatties/bream when the bite is on,,,, but be prepared,,, some nice surprises show up,,,, also you dont mention what size rig youve got but assuming its not the titanic try ningi creek mouth,,, the old wreck,,, and theres a host of areas around toorbul and donnybrook,,, i havent wet a line round whitepatch for a while but some of the reports i'm gettin are good,,,, this rain may liven things up a bit,,,,if your out and about 2morrow you'll find me in ningi with g/son up round the prawn farm,,,,we dont go for size with the youg'un just quantity,,, he's job is to catch em and release em,,, then spend the rest of the day braggin,,,,(wonder where he gets that from???????? ),,,,,,,,choppa

Thanx Choppa,
I do the same thing with my two sons 6 & 10 they dont care what size the fish are just as long as they are catching some.
I teach them to carefully take the fish of the hook witch they use barbless hooks and release the fish back.
I teach them the right size that is leagel and only keep what we will eat that night and let the rest go.
They love it.
I have a Yalta craft 4.5 with a 50 merc and all the safty gear for the bay
Epirb, 27mhz radio, sounder, gps, flares, vsheet, mirror, Bilge pump and a small gas activated blow up boat, the sharks out there worry me and i only have a small boat so safty is the key for me.
I dont take the children out of the passage.
I will only go out into the bay if the weather is fine.
I head down to the brisbane river and cruze out to mud island to chase a few fish out there.
Would love to catch a snapper but have only got squire up to 50cm long.
some Pelagics would be great for a bit of fun and even shark would be great.
Cheers
