    Hi Jake,

sounds like we should be asking you for advise matey...I think you've got things covered with gear and bait...as far as other spots, I don't know of many other places that fish as consistently as the banks...there are off days everywhere and the banks are no exception but you can usually scratch up a feed

There are other reef structures off Mooloolaba, not so wide, some to the south east, an admiralty chart will show the contour changes that indicate depth variance...they cop a bit of a flogging and the fishing can be patchy but they do fish well in the cooler months but I'm not sure about catching sambos, AJ's or kings in closer though and i understand there is some good ground wider, but I've not been out there

My experience of overnighters is limited but I reckon fishing the morning and the evening bite produces probably the most consistent results.

    All the best Jake

    Cheers

    Rhys

hey jake tight lips on this post as good spots are shared by few but if you are after king or amberjack look @ 70 meters or more instead of shallows.p.s good fight but thier are some much yummyer fishes scattered over the banks.

    Mate - can you give us a break and try to fix your spelling;

its kind of respectful to make sure your post is at least readable - if its all gobbldygook I just cant be bothered.

I think youve got it covered anyway.

    Hey Jake,

I think I read somewhere you've got to be old enough to vote before you can own gear like that.

I'll only be too happy to look after it for you for the next few years.

You're going well. Keep it up.

Lippa - thats the point mate. A 14 you should be able to spell.

He doesnt need a break. I didnt criticise him either; I just asked him to give us a break with his spelling.

While your at it Lippa - do a google on the word gobbldygook!

    Thanks for the advice.

    bigmack,

It sounds like you criticised him to me and in my opinion there no need for it.
I thought we were he to talk about fishing and our love of it?
It's because of this unnecessary criticism that people don't want to put their posts on this site.

    Jake,

It sounds like your on track and the banks are huge' next trip try less time fishing and more time exploring new areas and you should find what you are looking for.
    good luck!!

Re: getting good results at the banks

Bigmack, at your suggestion, i did a search on the word "gobbledygook" (note spelling!!!!!!!!). Gobbledygook, incomprehensible or pompous jargon of specialists. It is a term that is used to describe nonsensical language or sounds that represent language but have no real meaning. it refers to inherently baffiling material. WORD search has been done. Nowhere did i find "gobbledygook" refer to spelling, grammer, or puntuation. I found however that Jake the snapper king, whilst having some minor spelling mistakes, made perfect sense, trying to obtain information on his preffered fishing types and locations, Explaining clearly his set objectives. It is clear that the only "gobbledygook" posted on this topic came from you.

    i'm going fishing,

    cheers
