HOW WE GET EM is a float (these we dont eat)2 number 12 hooks and bread .a bit of berlying and cast past them and bring it back in and when it goes down strike and keep them in a livey bucket about 20 ft away so they dont scare them away and repeat.

Never had any luck with bait traps. Cast net is my preference. Had one jump into the boat a couple of months ago, that was easy, but only just that one time.
Mullet are great fun to catch ive always found that in the esturies, low tide is the best. I use a float at either end of a herring jig a sit up current from the mullet school and throw some bread out to keep them around your jig.
depend what siz etype of mullet ur talking abot ??? large sand or flat tail/yellow spot mullet u can use bread, on unwiehted line or under quill float... the larger sea mullet or commonly called bull mullet just use ur cast net, why would u bother with a trap..... smaller poddies again bread on unwighted handline or under a quill float similar to luderick.. or better still use that cast net

That's the other way to catch them.
You rig up a dinghy with a board or piece of cloth, like a sail but running front to back on the boat, and shine a light on it and cruise along side a river bank.
They jump up to the light, hit the sail and fall in the boat.
