    Mackeral in Moreton bay

Want to take the wife out on the weekend and try and get her a mackeral.
Just want to go and troll or drift pillies and livies in the right areas as I dn't feel like getting a slug through the head and she'd get bored casting all day anyway.
Where are the best spots to try in the Bay with these methods?

I believe they are still in the bay near every beacon... (if you're lucky)
Floating pillies are 'GO zone' don't forget burley as well.
Come on use slug and could be much fun if you see boiling water with bird's signal.

    Happy fishing

    Hi Backhoe,
Not sure how big the boat is, but if you are both up to the trip I have picked a few up trolling North of the Spitfire Channel.
Leave from Spinaker Sound Bribie, try to get out to the beacons in the Spitfire about an hour or so (maybe 2) before the change of tide, usually plenty of baitfish showing around the beacons, try the pillies around the edges of the shipping channel and when the current gets too strong try the trolling. Blue or blue with black lures seem to work for me.
Lets us know how you go.
