Hi Kevin, you can use a hard body lure all the same places you use bait or plastics.
What sort of hard body lures do you have and what are you trying to catch?

Re: where can i use hard body?

i usually use bait to catch breams. i have some very small lures, bigger one about 5-6cm and a metal one. the ures just do not sink no matter how i tried, i mean, they should be surface ones. maybe i should try to put a sink on the lure,he he.
i copied what other lure users do but the result is that none of us(me and the lure users) caught anything. then i tried bait and got some breams..
it is hard to catch the first fish, that's why i really wanna find a place where there are lots of fish, ha ha. or someone who can demonstrate how to catch a fish using hard body, that will at least give me some faith.

    Hi Kevin,

So the main problem is your lure isn't sinking? You're not alone! It used to drive me crazy.

    Here are some possible solutions.

Use a lighter line. Is your line too heavy for the lure? If it is, that will definately keep your lure from sinking and it will also interfere with the lure's action. Don't go too light or the fish will snap it. I don't know what a good line strength would be for bream as I have no experience with them (I'm in the U.S.) but someone here can definately help you out there.

Add weight to your line. Split shots can help! I had the exact same problem you described and after I added a splitshot a foot up from the lure to my line, it went away. Test to make sure that the weight doesn't interfere with the lure's action too much though. If you have to add more weight, add additional weights a little bit further up the line. When I add them all in one "clump" it seems to interfere with the cast and the lure snags the line in flight. Not good! Experiment with weight placement until you find what you want.

There is a product available that is kind of like a putty that adds weight directly to lures. I've never used it and can't give an opinion good or bad about it but you can probably find info on it with a Google search or perhaps someone here has used it? Anyway, you put it on your lure or the hooks and "sculpt" it into shape. Think of it as a metallic clay.

Is the lip of the lure long or short? Deep divers have long lips and the shallow runners have short ones. Some lures don't do what they say they do. Frustrating, but true.

Since we're on the topic of hard bodied lures, I may as well include one more tip. If you notice your lure not running true (that is, if it's tipping to one side or the other) you can fix it by CAREFULLY bending the metal loop with a pair of pliers. Just a little at a time. Test the lure's action as you go until you get it to where it should be.

Sorry I can't help more location-wise but I hope that what I did write, helps you out a bit.

    Good luck!
