    Squire in Raby Bay Canals

These guys have lived out the back of my boat for years but now and then I get all excited and knock a few of them off.
Should do it more often as they get up to around the three kilo mark.
A long time between fish but with a set rod, bit of squid or a chunk of mullet, can usually bag three or four every day.
This guy was about two kilos as the effort on the Grandsons face shows!
Whatya mean, what canal do I live on?

Yep, try some gulp turtleback or minnow worms on some 1/12 or 1/16 jigheads. They go alright.

    Cheers.

Yeh Bream Boy, there is a story getting about that some guy used to bring them back alive and threw them into (my) canal for breeding!

The biggest I ever got was 3.5 kgs a few years back but they are not thick on the ground. There is a lot of brain coral about the rocky walls but these guys seem to be out where all the mud is - dujnno what they live on out there!

There are a lot of crap fish and eels in the canals that make keeping any bait on pretty difficult so trying to keep the rods baited all day long is pretty tiresome.

Just hooked a nice big bream tonight - about a kilo but they are very twitchy and once you get one, they mongrels vanish!

No prob telling you which canal I live in - just lemme have your Mastercard or Visa and I am sure we can come to some sort of deal!

Anyone who lives backing onto a canal or a river is a very lucky person indeed.
